This year STCA is happy to offer $2500 in scholarships. One $500 scholarship will be offered to Graduate or Doctorate level students at each of the following University's Counseling Programs:
STCA seeks to give recognition to individuals who are making important contributions to the counseling profession. If you know a fellow STCA Collegue who may qualify for an award, please complete the nomination form.
STCA Outstanding Counselor of the Year
Given annually to four outstanding Texas counselors who are actively engaged in public or private school guidance counseling. The four categories are: Elementary, Middle School, High School, and Multi-level.
STCA Senate Outstanding Counselor
Given annually to honor an outstanding counselor who exhibits superior professional achievements when compared to peers and unusual personal dedication to helping others without regard to benefit to self.
STCA Layperson Exemplary Service Award
Given annually to a person outside the field of counseling in recognition of exemplary support and promotion of counseling activities.
STCA Research Award
Given annually to a person who has conducted quality research, which furthers the knowldge and/or practice of counseling.
STCA Professional Writing Award
Given to an individual who has published high quality materials pertaning to the field of counseling.
STCA Molly Gerold Human Rights Award
Presented to an individual in recognition for his/her contributions in one or more areas of human rights.
STCA Legislative Award
Presented to an outstanding legislator who has supported the counseling profession.
STCA Public Relations Award
An award for the product that positively promotes the guidance and counseling profession to the public.
